Permanent Makeup Removal Aftercare

Saline Permanent Makeup Removal Aftercare Instructions

Your skin needs proper time to heal after a saline removal session. Following these instructions carefully will protect your skin, minimize the risk of scarring, and support optimal pigment lightening.

First 7–10 Days (Critical Healing Period)

Keep the Area Clean & Dry

  • Keep the treated area clean and completely dry.
Healing is most effective when the skin is allowed to breathe.

  • Gently blot the area with saline solution 3–4 times per day using a clean cotton pad or sterile gauze.

  • Allow the area to air dry naturally.

Do Not Apply Products

  • Do not apply ointments, creams, oils, or ice.

  • Do not cover the area with bandages.

  • The skin must remain dry to form a proper, protective scab.

What NOT to Do

Do Not Pick

  • Do not pick, scratch, or remove scabs.

  • Scabs must fall off naturally for pigment to lift properly.

  • Picking can cause scarring, hyperpigmentation, or poor lightening results.

Avoid Water & Heat Exposure

  • Do not soak the treated area.

  • Showers are permitted, but avoid direct water pressure on the area.

  • No baths, swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, hot yoga, or steam rooms until fully healed.

  • No exercise for 10 days, as sweat and heat can interfere with pigment lifting.

Avoid Makeup & Skincare

  • Do not apply makeup or skincare products to the treated area until fully healed.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning.

  • After 30 days, apply sunscreen to protect the skin and prevent hyperpigmentation.

After Scabbing Is Complete

Once all scabs have naturally fallen off:

  • Apply Vitamin E oil 1–2 times daily for several weeks to support skin recovery.

  • Do not use exfoliants, acids, or retinol on the treated area until fully healed.

  • Wait 6–8 weeks before scheduling your next removal session. Adequate healing time is essential for safe and effective results.

What to Expect

  • Redness, tenderness, and mild swelling immediately after treatment are normal.

  • A scab will form within a few days and must remain intact until it naturally detaches.

  • The area may appear patchy, uneven, or darker during healing.

  • True lightening results are visible after 4–8 weeks.

  • Multiple sessions are typically required for significant fading or complete removal.

Signs of Infection

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience:

  • Severe swelling lasting longer than 48 hours

  • Yellow or green discharge

  • Intense pain or excessive heat at the treatment site

  • Fever, chills, or red streaks extending from the area

Following these instructions carefully will promote safe healing, protect your skin, and maximize your saline removal results.
