Ombré Brows Aftercare

Aftercare Instructions

Please follow these instructions carefully for 10–14 days after your Ombré & Powder procedure to protect your results and ensure proper healing.

Immediate Aftercare (Days 1–3)

  • Gently splash your brows with distilled or filtered water every 2 hours, then pat dry using sterile gauze or a clean paper towel.

  • Even while cleansing, do not allow direct shower water, steam, or water pressure to hit your brows.

  • If brows accidentally get wet, pat dry — do not rub.

Healing Ointment Application (Days 1–10)

  • Apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor twice daily (morning and night), beginning on Day 1.

  • Continue for a total of 10 days.

  • Do not over-apply. Excess ointment can prevent proper healing. A thin layer is sufficient to prevent dryness.

  • If you have allergies to any ingredients, consult your pharmacist or doctor for a suitable alternative. Be aware that alternative products may affect healed results and could require additional touch-ups.

Important Healing Guidelines

Do Not Pick or Scratch

  • Do not rub, scratch, or pick at the treated area.

  • Allow any flaking or scabbing to fall off naturally.

  • Picking can remove pigment and may cause scarring.

If itching occurs, gently pat the area to relieve discomfort.

Avoid Water & Heat Exposure (10–15 Days)

  • Do not soak the brows in baths, pools, or hot tubs.

  • Avoid swimming in saltwater or chlorinated pools for 15 days.

  • No saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, or sunbeds.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure during healing.

  • After 30 days (once healed), apply sunscreen regularly to prevent fading.

Exercise & Physical Activity

  • No exercise for 14 days.

  • After 14 days, wear a sweatband during workouts to prevent sweat from contacting the brows.

  • Avoid gardening or heavy outdoor activities during healing.

Hygiene & Infection Prevention

  • Do not touch the treated area with your fingers.

  • If necessary, use only a clean cotton swab.

  • Avoid contact after touching pets. Do not allow pets on your bedding during healing. Change sheets if contamination occurs.

  • Sleep on your back for 10 days.

  • Use a clean satin pillowcase while healing.

Makeup & Skincare Restrictions

  • Do not apply makeup to the treated area until fully healed.

  • No brow tinting until healing is complete.

  • Avoid applying daily skincare products directly to the brows.

  • Do not schedule chemical peels or medical procedures until the healing process is fully complete. Inform any provider that you have had Ombré & Powder done.

  • If donating blood, inform the nurse about your procedure. Blood donors must wait 1 year before donating (per American Red Cross guidelines).

Symptoms of Infection

Mild discomfort or slight stinging is normal immediately after the procedure. Severe pain is not normal.

Watch for the following signs of infection:

  • Thick, raised scabbing

  • Excessive redness surrounding the area

  • Yellow discharge

  • Increasing pain or swelling

  • Tenderness or heat in the skin

  • Red streaks extending from the area

  • Fever or elevated body temperature

If you notice any of these symptoms, contact your primary doctor immediately.

What to Expect After Your Procedure

Immediately After

Your brows will appear darker and bolder than expected. This is completely normal. As healing progresses, the strokes will soften and the color will lighten.

During Healing

Some areas may appear lighter or uneven. This is part of the natural healing process and will be adjusted during your touch-up appointment.

Most clients require 1–3 sessions to achieve their desired results.

Multiple Previous Procedures

If you have had previous brow procedures, scar tissue may require additional sessions for optimal results. Additional fees may apply.

Touch-Up Appointments

Ombré & Powder is a two-step process.

A touch-up appointment should be scheduled 4–8 weeks after your initial procedure. Final results cannot be determined until this appointment is completed.

Skincare & Product Considerations (After 30 Days)

  • Retin-A, Retinol, and other retinoids can cause premature fading.

  • Avoid products containing:

    • AHA’s

    • Vitamin A

    • Retinol A

    • Glycolic Acid

    • Lactic Acid

    • Skin-lightening agents

Always review ingredient labels before applying products near the brows.

Long-Term Care (After Healing)

  • Apply sunscreen regularly to prevent fading.

  • Avoid exfoliating scrubs or laser treatments directly over the brows.

  • Maintenance touch-ups are typically needed every 12–18 months.

Lifestyle Considerations

  • Avoid smoking and alcohol for the first 48 hours (they can slow healing).

  • No Botox, fillers, or facials for at least 4 weeks after the procedure
